if I request the cancellation of my auto insurance policy, what are my obligations and those of my insurer for the payment of dues?
contract termination auto insurance - the insured is required under Article L113-5-1 Insurance Code (current version at 03.02.2009) to pay the premium or part premium equal to the period during which ran the risk, calculated period until the effective date of termination of contract auto insurance.
Where appropriate, the insurer shall refund to the insured within thirty days from the effective date of termination of contract auto insurance, the portion of premium or contribution for the period during which the risk did not run, period measured from said effective date.
Failing reimbursement under these conditions, the amounts due shall bear interest at the legal rate.
